Building a new system

Hello,

I've just bought an 2008 Subaru Outback. I wanted to upgrade the audio/video as I spend a good amount of time in the car driving.

I've been putting together equipment, and will soon be ready to install. Tell me what you think of the equipment I've chosen, and if I'm missing anything I will need before the install.

Here is what I have or am waiting to arrive:

Sony XNV-770BT Head Unit

Sirius Direct Satellite Radio Package for Sony

Sony XA-R800C Rear View Camera

JL Audio Stealthbox Single 10" Subaru Outback / Legacy 2005-Up Taupe 10w6v2 driver

JL Audio JX 500/1D 500W x 1 Car Amplifier

JL Audio TR600-CXi 6-1/2" 2-Way Speakers

Rockford Fosgate Punch P200-2 50W x 2 Car Amplifier

EFX Amplifier Wiring Kit 8-gauge w/Patch Cord

StreetWires ZeroNoise 3 Red 4 gauge Amp Wiring Kit w/patch cablea

and Crutchfield gave me:

SUBA LEGACY & OUTBACK 05-09 MS

Universal "T" Wire Harness speakers, w/ -Top

Geo/Toyota SAPs 1998-up, 5.25"/6.5"

I've installed speaker boxes, speakers, amps and stereos before but I figured since I've never had nice things before (nowhere near this nice of a setup before) it would be best to have someone who is willing to back up their work to install it.

I've been talking to the local shop as I have been putting this group of equipment together, but the owner (not the installer) couldn't get some of the equipment I wanted and just wanted to sell me his stuff that he sells instead, and I think it gets on his nerves that I went to Crutchfield for most of it.

He is going to make money (a good amount) off the install, but I was wondering if I'm being disrespectful by not buying through him but still going to him for the install.

nope ,most shops make their money by selling to their customers ,but if they want or need your money they will do the install.

havent heard the term patch cord in a while. and thats a nice setup.

Next I was wondering if I needed the "Big 3 upgrade" in my year/make/model?

If so, what would be the best wire to buy or is there a kit that you would recommend?

I was searching kits but I distrust any bundled package of something so simple.

OK,

So I purchased a Big 3 Upgrade Kit and a 180 amp alternator and a deep cycle battery. I know its overkill, but I should reap some overall benefits from having all of the power I could want. Rolling the windows up strains the power in my car right now lol.

Thinking of doing the big 3 / alternator install myself. I feel more comfortable with that stuff.

Waiting for the stealthbox to come in and then I can take everything else to get installed at my local car audio shop.
