Hey guys, Im building a system for my friend. He is a college student and is gonna have to buy a few items at a time. This is the system I have put together for him for his 2007 New Body Style regular cab Silverado. I am going off of my stereo in my 2008 quad cab GMC Sierra, and I am pleased with these products, so I am going with the same brands, some same models

Subthump regular cab box. The depth is shallow. 5.5" mounting depth max ($159 from subthump.com)

RE Audio ReX 12" subwoofers (2) 5.5" mounting depth. Perfect. I just havent found how much space these need. They take up .10 cubic feet so we would have .60 total for each sub of space. Im not sure if this is enough space for the little amount of volume for the box. Its the shallowest sub model they have unless I want to go with their shallow model sub, which Im really not interested in. They handle 175 rms per sub, but I know I can throw more wattage at these. Perfect for the 500.2 (Around $120 for the pair on ebay)

Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.1 Cant do any part of his install without this. I talked him into using the 3sixty.1 since he lives on campus and the new truck's stereo just flows better and an aftermarket unit would just not flow well in his truck. (Still trying to find a good price.)

Phoenix Gold Tantrum 500.2 (2) Each amp should run a pair of his subs and the other run his front components (Found some deals for around $80-$100)

Hertz Audio HTZ 165. These will handle 125 rms per side. Perfect for the 500.2 (Found some good deals on ebay for around $150.)

4 awg wiring kit. I want to get him a good kit. Id rather not go with a fuse. I love my circuit breaker, but I also have a 0/1 awg Kicker kit. Im Looking to stay around $50 for a decent kit)

I told him the total cost would be roughly $850 or less. He said that was ok, but if I could trim it up, that would help. He's a good kid. Like a little brother to me. Good enough that I might even buy his speakers or an amp for him. I already have a deal for a Tantrum 500.2 for $80 in the works. I just need to wait for my paycheck and I got it. So that will probably be the my Christmas present to him.

I found good prices on everything, but the highest prices item of his system build is the 3sixty.1. I love mine so Im looking for a really good deal on them. If I can find a 3rd Tantrum 500.2, I will toss my Clarion 640 watt amp that served me well, but its been stripped and not connecting well. Id like to add another 500.2 to my other one soon.

Let me know. Thanks guys!

Also, Im not sure if there is a difference between his truck and my truck. Will I have an issue with fitting a 6.5" speaker in the doors? I had to make speaker rings to move the speakers away from the window when it rolled down, but then again, I am running Focal Utopia's in the front and K2P's in the rear. Do the regular cabs still have rear speakers between the door and back window? I may have to unplug those.

Just nabbed a Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.1 for $78 at the last 6 seconds of the auction. Beat the guy who was bidding by less than a $1. If you are on the board, Im sorry. lol

So remove the 3sixty.1. No longer looking for one.
