Building a Box Help

I'm a beginner at box building. Can anyone give me step to step instructions on how to build a box. Like what kinda of wood do i need cuz i kno the hardware stores have so many kinds. I have 2 12" kicker l5's. I want to make it ported with flare ports. Can anyone please help me out.
