Building a box for 2 SA-12s, wanted to confirm some things

Hey all. In the process of picking up 2 SA-12s and was planning to use the recommended box dimensions from Sundown. Those are 1.75cubes per chamber at 30Hz ported. From people who have used these subs does that sound about right? Should I go to a bigger box or a higher Hz?

Also when it comes to the box design, could both chambers share a port or is that a no-no?

if they are single chambered, yes they can share the same port...if theyre 2 seperate chambers, they wouldnt be able to, one chamber would be sealed off from the port...u COULD do a port in the middle of the box...or, easier, single chambered box...saves on wood as well...lol

If the sub calls for 1.75cubes each, what sort of diff would I see doing a 3.5cube single chamber box with a box with two separate chambers at 1.75cubes each? Im all about saving space and weight, so long as it isnt making it worse

bassman, thanks ill check it out. I found on the 'free' designs something close to what I want. (filename: 35cubes32hz455sqinlq7) which is 1 chamber 3.5cubes at 32hz. The measurements are 14.5H, 32W, and 21D. Id love to make it 34.5W and maybe 19D or whatever the depth can be to still be 3.5cubes.

there is no audible difference between single and dual chambers...it jus saves space and weight...granted, its minor but it still saves
