Build Log: rtillaree's 626

im beginning to wonder if 100sft is enough fatmat to do the drunk and lid...im getting excited to put it down, cant wait to see it finished...if your in the area and want to lend a hand, hit me up...i welcome the help/company...

haha yea, it's all good i wasnt banking on help...i do a good job on my own for the most part...but if someone wanted to stop by it's fine with me...especially if people are wanting to learn how to DIY their own car audio but dont think they have the skills...

update 6/5/07: just finished about an hours worth of fatmat application, coming along nicely...

it's going to be a busy week for me with work, but i should still be able to get a few more hours logged before weeks end...at least 1 full application of the mat, maybe parts of the 2nd coating...

factoid: fatmat sucks to work with mainly for the fact that all of the blue logo amping rubs off on your hands...cheap *** chit...

ummmmmmmm just wondering why you didnt put down the fatmatt before the spectrum? Thats what I did when I deadned my car......... i used spectrum sludge after damp pro....

did i screw it up? i didnt think i did...i looked around for awhile before beginning, and it seems as though it could be done both ways, i asked a few people and each said to spectrum and then mat...so thats what i did...the mat sticks to the spectrum very well....guess we'll see when it's done...i was thinking of applying spectrum to the mat when completed...

No your right. . . you dont have to but thats just how i've seen it done most times I've seen build logs. What are the pro's and con's? I dont know........ I am sure applying spectrum after wont hurt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif . Fatmat is a real bargain....! Let me know how you like it.

yea it is pretty economical, i know people say it's garbage, but ive had no troubles with it yet...sure it's only 45mil, but 2 layers is 90mil so it works out...and i got enough to do 2 full layers...im set IMO...

It just looks cleaner when you see all black vs seams from the deadener.

I dont think there is any advantage/disadvantage from doing it the opposite way, it just looks worse.

thats what I was thinkin. . . . i spent 3x what fatmat costs on second skin and i was really satisfied but it burned a hole in my wallet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif then my car was totalled with 2k of deadner in it. . . secondskin damp pro, spectrum sludge, heatwave, and overkill...... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
