Build log: Building a Desk.

I built a desk a while ago... and I decided to throw up some pics.

It's basic, but I love this thing. It could hold an elephant.

These pictures were so I'd have a digital reference so I could do the math to make sure it fit in... it was a bitch and a half to get it in the closet...

Finally got it in... now just to add the top:

Perfect fit... actually... too perfect. The imperfections of the walls started to come off... and it actually pushed the inner wall out... you can see a crack in each corner. :x

Since, I had no money... I decided to go the old fashioned way... burn the bish! I lacked experience doing this... so it didn't come out that well. You're supposed to do a light coat... but I ended up just charring the hell out of it.

P.S. This is my old build... I got a new PC, new monitor, and replaced my sub to under the desk in the corner with port face toward the wall and it booms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I might put it back, but in the corner to power my torrent PC.

I just died a little inside.

What's wrong with the desk other than the color job... which was completely my bad.

I think I should also note, this was the first time me ever working with wood.

The hardest part was hammering in the nails. I've never felt so weak hammering big *** nails into this wood.

Yeah, I was referring to the staining. I also would have used some filler on the nail holes.

Yeah. I know. I would've done it differently if it were now. Like I said, it was my first time working with wood and I didn't know much about anything.

Talk all the shit you want... those CRT monitors literally lasted me 8 years of 24 hour use. And even then, I got them used. So who knows how much they were used before. They've been dropped, wet, you name it it's happened to the behemoths.
