Budget System Design Help

Hi all,

I'm wanting to put together a system for maxish $500, using ebay pricing.

Looking at a set of comps for the front, four channel amp, single 12" sub.

Is that about right?

Any ideas?

What makes a good combination?

Any input appreciated!

You could get an Alpine Type S for 100ish on Ebay. Some MB Quartz Ref. for 130ish.

A 4 gauge wire kit under 40ish. Prefab box 20ish, that would leave you anywhere between 170-220 left depending on actual prices.

I have no amp suggestions..

I've listened to the following setup before:

-Kicker KX 650.4 Amp

-Infinity Kappa 60.5CS comps

-Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 sub

That sounded awesome. I would like to get those components, but I am wondering if there is anything even better or cheaper, etc.

P.S. I listen to mainly Hard & Uplifting House/Trance. Also, I make my boxes myself.

Components: Alpine Type X SPX-177a - $160ish

Sub: Adire Audio Shiva - $125

Amp: Soundstream XTA480.4 - $165.00 eBay / Eclipse PA5422 $265.00 eBay / Clarion APX401.4 - $200ish eBay / MTX Thunder 684 - $260ish eBay.

And of course there are many other options out there.

For a cheap sub, go with some of the power bass sql line up. They dont cost to much at all. I just got my brother a pair of db125v2's I believe they were and they didnt cost much at all and I am very impressed by them for the price. I am not one for cheap subs but these things hit well and have some good sq. I have gone through many subs as well, so I am not a newbie just sold a 15L7 and 2 12w6v2 jls's so I have had some pricie subs.

That was a pure sq setup right there. In fact, I bet you could get what's listed there for $500. I usually frown on copycat-ing another setup, so look for a bigger amp. *grin*

I'm not copycating really, because I put the system in for him!

It's just that I'm looking if I could get a similar/better system for the same price or better.

It must be a pure SQ system. That's what Dance music's about.
