i know about 4 people who had nothing but problems with the older durangos like you stated. all of them had major suspension problems and ****** problems. now i don't know about the newer ones

I believe the ball-joint issue has been corrected with the newer models.

Dodges automatic trannies are junk (with a few exceptions), I had a 97 dakota with the 3.9 and 5 speed, it was a pretty good truck other than the front end components.
