Budget 150-200 for either 3-10's 2-12's 1-15

So I ended up with 2x 10" Infinity 1060W's. They lasted all of 2 weeks , just smoked one today. Apparantly I am rough on sub's, I thought at 275w RMS a piece they would matchup to my old JBL 600.1. Apparantly JBL doesn't mess around with amps.

So now that I am setup for 2 10's it is back to reading through this thread and taking those 10" suggestions to heart.

I think you need to learn how to set an amp before you buy any new subs. You should not be going through subs within 2 weeks unless there is user error involved. Quit cranking the gain up and using the bass boost!

Installed two DB Drive K710D4 Okur K7 and wired them parallel parallel for an 1 ohm load. Assuming 600W out of my amp at a 1 ohm load that should give me 24.5V on a DMM to set gain. Sure enough my gain was set at 25. Bumped it down alittle.

Now onto the next part of the story. I think I figured out why it seems that I was clipping, I have been maxxing out my head unit's volume. After reading a bunch and doing some tests with underdriving the speakers with the gains down and turning the head unit up I think my HU starts clipping at 57 out of 62. That should help my subs live longer not using the HU all the way up.

So in the next week it is time to do the big three. Trying to keep my hands off the volume knob but the couple times I did turn up the new woofers they pulled the voltage down to 12.6, while turning about 3K rpm's on the highway.

Thank you all for the help and keep comments and suggestions coming. Even if they are negative, I learned a lot just by researching setting gains with a DMM and watching a few SMD videos on it.
