I just spent the past 12 hours reading the forums and my mind is spinning between all the new brands and all the great information y'all provide. I was hoping you can set me in the right direction.
Quick background. I've owned the same JBL 600.1 amp for 10 years now and it has now outlasted all subs hooked to it. It has blown 2 different Infinity Perfect 12's and has now killed a voice coil on the Elemental designs 12O.44 (12 in dvc 4ohm).
So here I am again wanting to use my trusty 600.1 but want to go into a different config. I prefer sealed boxes for tight bass, SQL. I have always wanted to try 3 tens but am willing to venture into 2 twelves or a single fifteen (always ran a single 12). I only have so much space in my 98 civic coupe about 36" wide for a box to fit in and about 24" in height and don't want to give up more than a foot in depth if possible.
My budget is about 150-200 just for the subs. I will most likely build my box (built a few before). The major constraint is the 600.1 only likes to put out 600w at 1-2ohms otherwise I would of purchased 3 RE Rex 10.
Any and all suggestions appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Charles
