Budget 10" sub suggestion

I think you got your impedance swapped in the bottom line of your last post gunz. don't wanna confuse this guy. Dual 4 ohm would be 2 ohms with coils in parallel or 8 ohms with coils in series.

Also, would you guys recommend the getting my box with .75cuft of airspace for the 11kv.2? Or sticking with the recommended .6 max. I've heard that giving subs a bit more airspace than they call for allows them to get a bit deeper

you'll get a bit more extension with a slight sacrifice of SPL....Also, going larger requires less power to reach XMAX (meaning a bit more efficient).

And if you wanted to, you could give it the .6 and stuff the box a bit.....adding stuffing acts as if the enclosure was built a bit larger....

Just depends on what you are looking for //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif do you want a flatter (meaning more level freq response), wider response or a louder, bit narrower freq response?

You can go with the .75, and if you don't like it, just screw some 2x4's in or 4x4's to reduce the size of the enclosure to .6 or smaller...

OK thanks for all your help joey. I think I'll go with the larger since I'm looking for more SQ and wider range than loudness. Finally got things figured out and ready to order. Now on to the search for a reasonable install price :/

Doh, my bad. The wiring diagram should be correct though.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Why do you recommend the nine.2 amp instead of the nine.1? The nine.1 puts out 50w more power at 4 ohms and is cheaper. I will never be adding a sub so I have no need for the ability to wire anything but one sub.

Find someone selling a 9.2X....otherwise I think you are going to be hard pressed to find that power for $130....
Personally, I would get an eD 11Kv.2 and NINe.2 for the package price of $260....
Just wondering, because the nine.1 is cheaper and seems better suited.

I figured you didn't want to wait for it to come out.....Won't be shipping until Dec/Jan...

But yes, if you wanted to you could get the NINe.1 and that would be just about all the amp you would need for a substage if you only ever plan on running one sub...

Also, keep in mind that eD rates their amps at 12.5V, so you are looking at the 9.2 putting out a bit more than you are reading. My NINe.1 puts out about 1500 RMS, not 1200 like stated (@1 ohm that is.....)

If you are willing to wait then I would DEFINITELY tell you to get the NINe.1, though it is overkill for the 11K.....But leaves you the option of expanding if you should choose to do so in the future.....

If the OP has a 350z and is planning on using the subwoofer enclosure that fits under the strut brace tower in the hatch area, all he will probably ever run is one subwoofer. There are other options available, but many of them will render the hatch area useless.

I came close to building a fiberglass enclosure to house a 13TW5 in the 350z's 8" sub location behind the driver's seat, but my buddy wasn't able to guilt me into building a fiberglass enclosure in July. Well that and the fact that he probably couldn't afford the 13TW5/fiberglass materials. I did say I would build it if he came to me with the sub and the fiberglass materials. Now he is holding out for the Stereo Integrity BM and planning to put it under the strut tower location.
