Budget 10" sub suggestion

What sub would you guys recommend for my setup? I will be running one 10" sub in a sealed enclosure with .75 cubic feet airspace. Trying to keep my price for sub/amp around 250. Willing to spend a little more if it's an upgrade I will notice. I mainly listen to rock with a little rap/hip hop.

I was looking at one type R 4 ohm DVC paired with a alipne mrp-m500 amp. This would cost me around 250 shipped. Is there anything wrong with that setup or something you guys would suggest over this?

Thanks and looking forward to lots of good advice from this forum:)

Thanks *******...

For some reason I can't get the search function to work on either firefox or internet explorer. A blank screen comes up after every search. I figured this would be a pretty simple question for audio enthusiasts to answer.

I was recommended the CSS SDX10 and Rockford Fosgate R500-1 Prime 500 Watt Mono Amplifier on a 350z forum. Anyone think this would be better or worse than the alpine combo? I haven't been able to find much feedback on this brand sub through online

People take things WAY too personally these days.

I was talking about ME you self centered moron. I was incapable of reading......and wrote something irrelevant to your cause.....

lol sorry man. All that I saw was the inability to read part. I just assumed from all my time at my350.com that you were bashing me for not searching before asking the noob question. Anyone have any opinions on the CSS SDX10 over the alpine type R or something better than those two?

I think the type r sounds better in a ported box. You should be able to find a sub that sounds better in a sealed box.

I would see if maybe eD has any 11O's left on sale.....

Thanks for the recommendations guys. How do you guys feel about the Dayton in a sealed enclosure with .75ft^3 of airspace? Also, I am correct in assuming that this is a SVC sub so I am looking for an amp with about 600 or a bit more RMS power @ 4ohms? Any suggestions for an affordable amp that fits the bill?

Edit: Didn't realize I already mentioned the airspace of my box in the first post, so I'm assuming you would recommend it for .75ft^3 of air. Mainly just need to know if I do indeed need 600W rms @4ohms from my amp? The alpine I was initially looking at needed the 500W at 2ohms because it was DVC but I guess this needs the 600W at 4ohms? Getting this power at 4ohms seems to be a lot more expensive but I may be completely confused here

Find someone selling a 9.2X....otherwise I think you are going to be hard pressed to find that power for $130....

Personally, I would get an eD 11Kv.2 and NINe.2 for the package price of $260....

Ok, one last question. Can someone explain the difference in dual two or dual four. If I am right(which I'm probably not), I would want the dual 2 sub for the nine.2amp so I could wire it at 4 ohms. Is this way off??

Your choices for wiring the dual 2 ohm subwoofer would be either 1 ohm with the voice coils in parallel or 4 ohms with the voice coils in series. ETA: *click here* for a diagram!

A dual 4 ohm subwoofer would be 2 ohms with the voice coils wired in parallel or 8 ohms with the voice coils in series. ETA: *Click here* for a diagram!

Would I be better off wiring these subs at 2 or 4ohms? I don't understand the ohms when looking at all these amps. They seem to be able to produce more rms wattage at 2 ohms, so it seems I would save money on an amp if I wire at 2 ohms. But there must be a drawback to this or it wouldn't be cheaper. AHH, there is so much completely contrasting information about this on the internet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
