The casing seems to be sliding up and i can see the insulation....doesn't smell burnt but not sure....just wondering what that is and about how much would it cost to repair it...or even better if anyone has any tips on how to repair it myself that would be awesome.....thanks in advance.....

the red thing i circled, the casing or whatever is coming up off of it and i can see the insulation(paper looking) and the amp stays in protect....sorry i don't know the names of all the shit....is the thingy i circled in red and white the capacitor???

Replace it. It has exploded itself already. Look on the top of the other capacitors and read what is written on it, your problem is right there. Quality products....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

well the thing is i had this amp for about 5years now....so i don't know if it's the quality per se.....how would i find out the underlying problem???also theres another one that looks like it could be doing the same thing.....

while connected, dip it into a pool of water either bucket , or some other similar type device...

if anything happens while submerged in the water, you can rule out the possibility of the amplifier being totally destroyed

return here with the results

could also be something else. Something can look fine but really be broken. Sorry but there's no easy answer. Not even someone who repairs amplifiers can really give u a good quote without having the amp in hand and being able to test to see whats wrong with it.

Shoots bra, I use to live in Waipahu and I know the kind. Try replacing the Cap with one of the same specs, if it doesn't work and you don't mind spending some $$$ to get it fixed then sent it to db-r(sales@db-r.com). Now only try to replace the Cap if your good at soldering, because you could damage something else buy applying to much heat on the circuit board. Even though in my line of work soldering is required I still **** at removing components from circuit boards. Good luck and send me some chocolate covered macadam?? nuts.
