bridged or stereo? (ohm question)

With 2 DVC subs, would you get more power output if you ran them stereo at 1 ohm or bridged at 2 ohm? I had them at .5 ohm for awhile but realized that my ohm was only 1 ohm stable... and you can't bridge 2 DVC subs to 1 ohm so... Not sure what I am better off doing.. =P

sure you can---if they are 4ohm coils. but in your case of dual 2 ohm-your best wiring option is probably 2ohms and since that amp is mono---its pretty much your only option unless you want serious power drop.

so that means .5 or 2 or 8 ohms only---there is no stereo on a mono amp---just because there is two sets of outputs on an amp doesn't make it stereo.

well what if i'd attempt to wire them like that? haha would they even work? :p When I had one sub wired to 1 ohm my amp constantly went into protect... bothered the hell out of me, didn't know why, but then i bridged them to 2 ohms and hooked the other one up, it has not went into protect yet.. awesome

if you try to wire you subs to 1 ohm on each output you'll be putting a .5 load on your amp.the two speaker outputs are bridged internally and the reason they put 2 outputs on the amp is to make your wiring options easier. so i would simply use a series/parallel connection or just run your coils in series (per sub) then just connect one sub to each output.

I don't mean to be an a55, but this really really irritates me. Obviously you know what you're talking about, but the 2 prs. of speaker outputs on mono amps are NOT bridged internally - they're just parallel to each other. Bridging is an entirely different process.

I see that comment made all the time by people who, otherwise, know what's going on and it always drives me crazy.
