so i was sending morel hybrid ovation components around 90-100W per channel, now that i bridged the 4 channel, i am sending around 300W.
i like to tune my HU on a high volume, because until u get to volume 48/62 and higher, u get barely a single volt preamp when u can get 5V max unclipped preamp output by tuning ur system at volume 57/62 (instead of doing the 3/4 volume rule of thumb).
it sound phenomenal. at first i bugged out bc i heard some intense rattling coming from the right woofer but it turned out it was from a box of junior mints that was in the side pocket and was being rattled.
my calculations using the dmm were done using the rms rating of the amp at the approx average voltage. it says its 250 x 2 at 12.5, and 325 x 2 at 14.4. i am almost always pretty steady at 13.5, so i took the average of the two outputs, which is 287.5W.
287.5 * 4(ohms) = 1150
sqrt of 1150 = 33.91V
using a 1000Hz test tone, 0dB ref, all processing and EQ bands flat and the volume at 57/62, i decided not to push it so i didnt go for 33.91, i tuned AMP 1 and AMP 2 both to 28, giving myself some room for processing. i am going to do some random tests with some songs that seem to be recorded very loud and just see what kinda random readings i get when i am not using a test tone.
anybody dislike having mono in both speakers and no stereo sound that is differential bw the two?
