Bridged amp....two runs of RCA's

So I'm assuming that you are running a four channel bridged to a two channel? What amp is it? I think I have an idea of what's going on, but I want to make sure before I suggest anything

Yes, I am running a 4 channel bridged to 2 channels. This is a Tru 4.65.

I can't find a manual on Tru's site, so you might as well pick up a couple splitters and use Bun Bun's method just to be safe. It certainly won't hurt anything. Just make sure you use one side of the splitter for each set of outputs. Otherwise you will lose stereo separation.

Do you just mean once I plug in the "red" side to just make sure that both red sides go to each part of the amp?

I mean don't plug both sides of the splitter into one pair of inputs on the amp. So the splitter on the "left" side of the RCA coming from the Sym unit plugs into both "left" inputs on the amp.

Otherwise, the "front" inputs will get the "right" signal and the "rear" inputs will get only the "left" signal.

Ah, see I was going to do that wrong.

let me see if I can describe

RCA -----RED-----splitter (now 2 reds) iw as going to plug into RED RED on the amp

RCA-----Black----Splitter (now 2 blacks) i was going to plug into Black Black on the amp

Your saying on the RED plug one into Red and one into black correct?

I'm sure this is elementary to some, but I've never bridged an amp to comps like this before so bare with me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I've never needed that much power LOL

The way you were going to do it is the way I was saying to do it.

Why not just sell the 4chan and grab a higher-powered 2 chan?

I love this amp! Can't get rid of it. Once it is set back up right, i'll be happy again :p

Thanks for all the help man, I really appreciate it!

I didn't read the rest so sorry if this has already been connected.

When you bridge a four channel amp the front becomds 1 channle and the rear becomes another channle. So pick one to be left and the other will be your right. For my installs I use the front as my left and the rear as my right.

So you take your RCA's from your source and take left (white) to splitter to both of the front input's. Then you take the right (red) to splitter to boeth of the rear input's. I think left is white and right is red... if not sorry for the confusion.

And no splitters are not bad in anyway. They create a parralell circuit so both sides of the splitter see the same voltage.

As long as you think of your bridged sections as channels instead of left/right front/rear then you will be good. Personally I like the amps that call front amp1 and rear amp2. Makes so much more sense for bridging and other non normal wiring.
