Did a few searchs but i couldnt find the answer -

I'm gonna hook up two 12" type-r's dual 4ohm and was wondering would it be better to bridge both amps (alpine mrd-m850) and hook up the subs, or run each amp to a sub individually. I'll be running them at 4ohms giving them about 500RMS

What are the pro's and con's of each setup?

well if you were gonna run em each individually you wouldnt be able to run the dual 4 ohms at 4 ohms - 2 and 8 would be your only choices... you can only run them at 4 ohms if they were wired together

also if you bridge them the signal becomes mono instead of stereo- but basically doesnt matter since sub freq are omnidirectional....

and bridged usually gives you slightly more power

edit: if you already got two of those amps - wire each one down to 2 ohms and either push the full 800 watts into each or turn em down a little to like 700-750ish - should be happy (think i looked up the right amp) or if you havent bought the amps - just buy like a Hifonics BXI1606D or higher and wire them down to 1 ohm - cheap and good power (might be slightly over rated from what i hear) but should still move them nicely
