Break in, or no break in on subs?

I have no other way to use them than to break them in, even if you don't have to break them in, I'm still going to either way because I have to(not like it'll hurt them...).Just wondering if that was the correct way, or if the guys at the shop were just bs'ing.

Whatever though, I'm hear to learn and have fun, not to argue. PM anything else you have to argue about so you don't keep bloating up my thread

why?

seems you already got your answer, decided what your gonna do, and are done with this thread...

Speakers DO have a break-in period where the suspension becomes more compliant, excess glue burns off, etc. But if anything, they are harder to 'rip' (over excurt) than once they 'break in', so yes, play them as normal useage. At worst you may want to adjust your gains slightly to compensate for the audible change, once the speaker suspension has conformed properly... if you'd set your gains by ear. This would actually mean turning the gains down, not up, contrary to the popular 'run speakers at lesser power to break them in' theory.

I do not know why we must have this very same discussion twice a week around here. Is it really such a hard concept to grasp? The suspension loosens up abit. Big deal. No need to baby the speaker(s), just be aware of whats happening when doing your critical listening and/or setup.
