Go to the parts store and pickup a cheap Meter and test the coils.

Or take it and ask the shop to test it.

to be honest box looks horrible.. you cant just drop any speaker into any box and expect good results.. but start with installing a line out converter,, wire your sub to 2 ohms using one of the above mentioned links,, and get you some 3/4 MDF and build you a decent box.. many users on here will be more than happy to help you with a design

u were right, it was the box. i put it in another box and it made my ears bleed, then killed my battery. anyone know what color my remote wire is? i tapped into one thats always hot

thats y ur batt died cuz ur amp never cut off are u usin stock or aftermarket hu??
