brand new sub blown?

you want to run + to + and than - to - and than 1 positve and 1 negative of the same coil to the amp.. this is going to show the amp a 2 ohm load... keep your gain down tho

wire all +together and all - together for 2ohms
at 2 ohms my amp will run at 6oo rms max. which my sub does aswell. so why is it when the notes first hit or when it punches it distorts, almost a crackle. it sounds fine at low volumes tho, and will pound fine if its really deep bass

your amp does 1000 watt rms at 2 ohm and 600 rms at 4 ohm.. your sub is a 600 rms sub.. ideally you should have got a dual 2 ohm sub but you can use the current one you just need to be careful

i wired coil 1+ to coil 2- and ran that to the amp. and coil 1- to coil 2+then i tried the + together and the - together. nothin changed
I hate to bring this up now but it looks like he first wired his coils out of phase,if im seeing that right. If he did that his sub would have barely moved and just sat there destroying its self with heat.

to be honest box looks horrible.. you cant just drop any speaker into any box and expect good results.. but start with installing a line out converter,, wire your sub to 2 ohms using one of the above mentioned links,, and get you some 3/4 MDF and build you a decent box.. many users on here will be more than happy to help you with a design

it shouldnt have messed up the coils. both ways i wired it were from the diagram that came with the sub...
