I recently bought a 1200watt kicker cvxcomp10 with dual voice coils. and an alpine mrp m-1000 amp and after i hooked it up it sounded blown. when i turn the gain up it sounds like the coils are shot. i used one of the posts here to wire it up

http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?t=40817

except i wired it to the rear speakers. its still hitting all the lows. what am i doing wrong? my cousin says it might b bc its brand new and u gotta work it in but that seems too odd to me

is your sub a dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm?To me it sounds like its your enclosure. Got any pics of the setup?
its a dual 4 ohm. i post a pic tommorrow. if the box doesnt have the recommended airspace can that cause it? or if its not sealed properly?

you need a line out converter.. pm me for a price.. i used it on my old install.. the are very easy to install and are better than wiring it the way you did

if you wired it to 2 ohms you are over powering that sub.. if you wired it to 8 ohms it is not getting hardly any power
i wired coil 1+ to coil 2- and ran that to the amp. and coil 1- to coil 2+

then i tried the + together and the - together. nothin changed
