Brahma...what's the deal...should I reconsider?

I have been looking at getting a 15" Brahma, but with the bad things I have been hearing about the spider trying to crawl out, I am wondering if I should reconsider. The reason I was going for the B15 is because I want SPL and SQ. I have a 6.6cu' box (befor any displacement) and it seems kinda big for other subs. I want a single 15" sub that will hit mid 140's (at least) while maintaining decent SQ. I also want to have a 1ohm configuratuion. I will be using an A7HC to push it.

Can anyone recommend a sub for me in the $350 range? (I perfer new and don't want crap.)

well i got a friend w/ 2 brahma 12"s, and they bang.. really nice subs man, that spider thing only happened to some people, and im sure its a flaw that is worked out. If your gonna be worried about problems with it all the time, teen dont go for it, but IMO its a sweet *** sub that can hit ur 140 db thats desired. (2 12"s in sealed box with like 800 each hit like 138)

As for other subs.. ed15" A, but that might not take the power or hit the numbers u want.. RE SE or an HC will be awsome and probaly get a nice number, along with a 15" L7.. Many choice's out there...

What is the XXX, heard much but im not in tune with this "Lingo" yet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Not entirely unlike the 15A and it's 'obscene' amount of cone recalls...

The spider spacer issue is also one that is blown out of proportion - and is completely covered under warranty...

The situation, like all other minor ones that any company has - has been rectified - be confident in your purchase - you are making a good one.

People...you've got to realize that there is an average of a 10% return rate on malfunctional subs...for any company.

The Brahma is an awesome sub...don't pass it up because you think the driver is going to break...odds are, it won't.

Is that meaning there was a lot of recalls? I don't get the word obscene...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I believe he means the issue was blown way out of proportion...there were less incidents of the "cone disaster" than most people think.

as far as i know, im the only one on the board who's brahma's spider is lifting. Dont get me wrong- it may be busted right now, but when it was working it was definitley the cleanest sub ive ever heard- and it got loud.

and if josh says that the spider prob has been taken care of- in that case- i highly recommend the brahma.

Josh: i spoke to my dealer as well as dan wiggins and they both said just do get some super glue and "try to re-attach it"(exact words). they havent said a thing about warranty. Do you have any suggestions as for what to do?

thanks

You can also try looking at the Crystal Mobilesound CmpX2 comes in both 12 and 15" .
A nice sounding driver ... but the $400 price tag makes most people walk away //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
