box volume and assembly

How do you determine the volume of a box once the sub is in? How do you figure out how much volume the sub takes up. I want to build a box, but I want to meet the sub manufacturers specs for proper volume. When they state the volume of the box does the volume stated include the sub being in the box or is that the volume you should have prior to the sub being installed?

Also how do you assemble a box? Do you use screws and then silicone to make sure there are no leaks?

The volume they state is with everything in the box (braces, driver, port, etc.)
Which means if your driver takes up 0.1 ft^3 and it calls for a 1 ft^3 enclosure, you have to make the internal volume 1.1 ft^3 ...

I like that gain setting tutorial that's great.

So do companies usually state the volume the woofer takes up? If they don't how do you figure a rough estimate of it?

Companies usually state it ... if they don't, you should be able to find out by calling ... If they don't know, then you're just going to have to estimate or PM me (BBP6 might have it) ...
What word do they use when stating it? I don't see anything listed on the specs for speaker displacement volume.

Here are the specs listed below:

Qts - - .28 .36

Qms - - 3.3 3.0

Qes - - .3 .42

Re - - 8.3 7

Vas

(Liter) - - 176 254

Sd (cm^2) - - 545 839

Fs (Hz) - - 21 23

Bl - - 21.7 22.1

MMd - - 127 187

MMs - - 134 202

Xmag

(mm) - - 18.3 19.1

Xsus

(mm) - - 22 22.4

Which driver is it ?
The one listed is for the ov.2 I believe. I pm'd someone to see what they could get me an SE or SX for. I'd really like to get an SX but I don't think I can afford it. I'm going for a single 15". I would like to get an SX in dual 2 ohm so I can run it 850 rms from my amp, otherwise at 2 ohms I put out 600 rms.

I don't think I'm going to go for a IA lethal injection, because it sounds like their subs are made with SPL more in mind.

I'm looking for a sub that is louder and cleaner than my two flat cone k's 10".
