Box Suggestions

I have a 12" Punch Stage 2 sub powered by a Punch 250 x 2 amplifier.

i've had it in a basic box built by my father, no porting or really any research done before building the box, just used 3/4" boards to make it.

i'm wondering how i can get a more powerful sound out of the sub. i know a lot of this has to do with porting but i have no idea at all how i would get it.

i drive a 98 Jetta, so the subs in my trunk.

any help would be much appreciated.

Try to make the box to the exact specs that the subs require for the best overall sound and SPL.

for sealed enclosure the range is .7 - 1.8 cu ft recommended is 1.02 cu ft

for vented enclosure the recommended is 1.79 cu ft

i'm a newb when it comes to boxes

so what are some suggestions for building a box to these dimensions & specifications

should i port it?

any and all feedback appreciated

I would put it in a pretty decent sized ported box, around 1.5-2 cubes, and if you want it louder tune it kinda high like 36-38, but it wont sound as good tuned higher

there are many people on this forum who will do a box for you.

iamamp3pimp did a box for me that is very good, also pvaudio and bjfish11 i know do some box work

well i wouldn't want someone to build the box as much as someone draw me out, or give me an idea for some plans

i have no problem building the box, i have all the tools and resources necessary (my fathers owns a carpentry business)

but the design is what i'm worried about - optimizing sound and such

i'll send him a message, i have no problem dropping a few bucks, but when i can build something myself & save money doing it i will.

i'm assuming PVAudio is a pretty reputable guy or you wouldn't be recommending him right?

so what do i do with my complete lack of knowledge? ACT LIKE I KNOW WHATS GOIGN ON

i did a quick draw up of a box - tell me if it would even work.....i have no clue
