This is one thread.^^^

I am currently running the 3 12" JL subs and am de-baiting on whether to use egg crate foam or poly fill. Currently I have no polyfill or anything in the box for that matter besides the subs. The low end on my JL's struggles greatly, on say Late Night Tip or other songs like it with super low bass there is not as much "sound" there as I am used to say with a 4 cube ported 15" sub.

The box is almost right on spec (maybe a little smaller). I have standard polyester polyfill, actually alot of it just couldn't find it during the box construction... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

What would be the BEST thing to stuff this sealed box with? Egg crate foam to me seems to take away from box displacement, but that is just a theory of mine. There is also a stuff that Parts Express sells that is "better" but it's too dam expensive. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?Partnumber=260-330&raid=44&rak=260-330

Just wondering opinions, it is worth spending some money on this setup if one thing i going to be better than another. The polyfill I have is the zero cost option though.

The foam has more density but you have polyfill on hand - should be a no brainer. You can always replace it if you don't find it sufficient.

Aside - head over to Wally World, in the bed section they have perforated foam that will do the same thing for cheaper...

Best,

Mark

Don't expect a dramatic difference from either option. If you feel your system currently 'struggles greatly' in the lowest octaves, you'll likely still be unhappy with it (albeit slightly less).

I agree with above, just stuff the poly in and see what happens. Good luck.

Yah... Honestly I think am going to switch to a single 15" Orion 2NT in a ported enclosure in

and see what happens, and throw the 12's In my family's home theatre. The 12's are some great musical drivers and don't dissappoint until you start throwing low low synthbass at them. (In the sealed box anyway.) But regaurdless, the 12's need some stuffiing. Gonna do the polyfill.
