kicker solobaric vs. tc sounds 1000

I have an older "round" 15 inch solobaric in a 1.5 sealed box. I started to look for a possibe new sub that isnt 5 or 6 hundered bucks. I hear some guys raving about the tc sounds 1000 and saw the price of the 15". How is that woofer going to rate against my old one. I know some guys always hated the kicker, but I did like the sound of the round versions in the correct sized box. I also have about 800 rms from an older punch 800a2 to give to the sub.

how much power do you have?

Actually most loved the older round solo's...in that same box, a Kicker CVX 15" would work as well.

I get the feeling that keeping mine is the way to go. Am I correct that credence is still making the solo d version called the css 154c. I was told awhile back that credence made the speakers for Kicker and never stopped making the old round models
