box size quesiton

I understand that for sealed boxes, a smaller size is going to give tighter bass while a larger box will give better low end. I want to know if there would be that much difference if two different sized boxes were tuned to the same frequency. For example Lets say, Box A is 1.5 cu ft tuned to 38 hz and Box B is 3.0 cu ft also tuned to 38hz. If they are tuned to the same frequency (and of course using the same subs and amp in both boxes) would the size of the box really matter that much like it does for sealed boxes? If it does, what kind of audible difference would i find between the two?
