im planning on doing a wall of 8 hifonics hfi series as a daily ground pounder and occasionaly bassracer... how much air space should i give them? i read somwhere they need around 2.5 cubes per sub. so that would be 20 cubes after displacement.. kinda big. haha.. any ideas? i know i asked this b4 but what if i just got about 12 of the hfis and built a sealed wall??? would that be just as good and save a little cubic feet??

Go for around 15 cubes. Tune them a little high at around 38hz. They are awesome some for the money.
yea thats what i have been told... im not looking to be rediculously loud.. just around 145-148 on music is cool with me.... i really want it to be a groundpounder though.... do you have any idea if these play well on the lows or if they do well tuned low?

Well we did a box with 2 of them tuned in the low 40s and it sounded pretty good for what it was.

Id tune a little lower, in the upper 30s and you will have a loud, good sounding box.

sounds good to me... 36-38 hertz then? and i take it you think 8 ported would be better than 10 or 12 sealed? oh, another important question. lol. i dont plan on getting a new amp. so with my 1 autotek mm4000, how would i wire these subs?

how many amps, i would not share all the subs in same air if they are on seperate amps, plus building seperate boxes/chambers will make the box stronger, you could share 4 subs in 7-8 cubes, plus it is alot easier build smaller boxes then bolt them together in car then wrap out side of all boxes with another sheet of wood, doubling the wall thickness

its been proven a common chamber is louder

do some measurements of your car, and build as big as possible, you can always shrink it down later.

i'd tune low, a big box and low tuning gets freakin low

cool. ^^^ yea thats what i have been told and from the one low tuned box i built it worked out good tuning low and building it big... but i just wasnt sure if these 12's would do good tuned low..... so 1 chamber, as big as possible? itll be hard to determine the actual internal cubic ft cuz of the angles ill have to make to get the max room for the box.
