Box questions for 2 12's Mofo's

Hey there Im having some trouble deciding on what kind of box dimensions I really need.

My first question would be how would 2.4 cubes @ 40 hz sound for these type of subs? I was reading around on some threads and it seems that 40 hz is pretty much the main spot for the subs. If you have any suggestions I would gladly appreciate it.

Second, the amount of space I have to work with is 34 inches long, by 16 inches wide, and 14.25 inches height. (34x16x14.25). How would i go about reconfiguring the box then? these are going into a 97 honda civic lx. The box also needs to have two ports as well. Any suggestions on the wood cutouts to get the box to be as close to the dimensions as I have put down? And as close to 2.4 cu ft as possible? Thank you for any help you can give me...
