box problem for XXX 15's

ok so here's the story, i haven't bought any of this stuff yet so you may think i'm overreacting but hey, i like to plan ahead. anyway, i'm planning to get two XXX 15's and an Abahn A2300HCT amp to power them, it'll put 1200 rms to each sub. i was planning to have these in two seperate vented boxes but the RE web site says 4 cubes and the only way i can get them in 4 cubes a peice is if the box sticks out about 10 inches above the seat, blocking two-thirds of my rearview. i don't really want this and i don't have the $$$ to get a screen and camera for rear veiw, so here's my question: how much of a difference will it make to put these subs in sealed boxes (recommended 2 cubes each) at oppose to vented ones? i could maybe make the boxes shorter if i made them a little odd shaped but i may have to sell this car in a year or so and was looking to keep the boxes in a shape i could use in other cars and still look good. (btw, i will probaly enter this in some comps and shows after the whole system etc is done.) thanks a ton guys. peace

maybe u should look into getting 2 12's instead, or 1 15". are u looking to compete or something? because 2 15" XXX's will be ridiculously loud..

yea i will probably compete at some point after i'm done with everything, so like next spring-ish i dunno i just like the idea of two 15's but two 12's may not be such a bad idea, thanks for the input, any other thoughts out there?

What truck are we talking? I can squeeze ~10 cubes out of my Pathfinder under the seats...

You can get away with 3-3.5 net ported for each...

u could always take out that 3rd row seat as well. then ull have more than enough room

a Van... hmm. Make a wall right behind the two front seats =). 15"s why not 18"s?

well actually, ... okay here's "The plan for the Van" =). the middle seats are going to come out and where they would be, i'm putting a 15" drop down monitor. then the 15's and the big amp will go sorta show style in the back, with the subs on the sides facing the back trunk wall and the amp upright in the middle so you see the writing straight. i'm also planning some re 8"s someplace in the middle of the van but i'm not sure quite where yet. (i'm also gonna put some coaxes in the front kick panels and in the back near the back seat as well as a good HU, two more amps, one for the speakers and one for the 8's, and a PS2; neons to accent throughout) ok so now knowing the whole story, any other ideas?

sounds good, and my advice is to go with smaller subs, u wouldnt wana buy nice woofers and not set them up properly now would u.
