It is purely theoretical, yes ...
However, the theoretical difference between the two enclosures would be pretty much the same as long as they were in the same environment, whether it's perfect or not ...

i forgot to give props to polecat for answering my numerous questions.

i think if i ever were to go solos again (which is unlikely but not out of the question) i'd get 4 8's (not to be a biter lol) but because they require the same internal volume and would theoretically perform much better. of course driver displacement would affect it a lil but eh.... point is im never goin sealed again lol
