Well, I decided to put my box and sub in the trunk all ghetto until I do a final install, kicks, horns - working on kicks now. Well, I tested her before she went into the trunk and well....
Box in sig
LPF 65hz
SSF 35ish hz
gain 1/3 or less
Hawkins (could nexer find out what exactly this does) 30ish hz
On most songs, it sounds great and really pounds with the sub nowhere near max excursion. However, on a couple songs, mainly funk, the sub will fully excurt and shound like crap. I think it may be due to the fact that a couple holes in the box for wires aren't completely sealed off which I will do tomorrow with some gel resin. Something else is that the Hawkins EQ. I don't know what it does exaclty which might be causing something. All I know is that when I set it to 30hz, the sub makes mostly 30hz tones. when I set it near 100, the notes are alot higher.
Also, this is more amp related but I pulled out the crappy pyramids in place for the SEXXX and all of a sudden the RCA light comes on on the amp.
A couple of songs I have noticed the full excursion on are Flashlight, P-funk, and Erotic City by Parliment Funkadelic and something else which I don't remember.
Tomorrow I will play with some of the settings to see what's going on after I patch up the box. If I can't get it right, I might just make me a nice backfiring (current is upfiring into half of the rear deck, box is too big) sealed and see what I can do with that.
