Box idea for Single cab truck

There's a possibility my calculations were wrong - although I know for a fact it was over 1.5^ft per sub ...

I just made the box like this

Well, you get the idea anyways man...

It was 55" long, 13" at the bottom 3" at the top, that indention was 3" in...12" from the bottom the the cut inward and 26" total height(I think this is right, off top of my head)

I've got MrRay13 building me a box for a ported 12 right now with .6^ft(i believe it is?) of port and 2.5^ft of space after displacement...

Anyways, he's using the basic same design to build my ported 12 box, I do believe...

Oh and by the way, I'm losing a few inches of legroom, but it's still comfortable for me, and my passengers dont knock their knees on nothin - so whats it matter?

I just took out my center seat and built a 2^3 net, ported box. It was kind of annoying having something that big sitting right next to you though.

What can ya do, if I hit 140 with my sub, you wont see me complaining a bit bro lol

AudioQue HD 12 will be the sub, if I ever get the money for the dang thing

I measured what my absolute limit would be on loss of legroom. and i can get 12 inches from the back of cab to back of seat at about 12 inches up. i just need 1.25cf @ 20hz. I figured the 12x12x24 is like 1.45 cubes, but thats without port. i don't know how many cf i should expect the port to take up, obviously not more then .20

1.25 is not a problem whatsoever, talk to mrray13 bro, he's on the forum...

My three 10 box was like 42" long or something, and it was only like 11" tall, 7" deep, it would be plenty ^ft for your ported sub(I'm saying use the same dimensions about) ... and I didnt lose hardly any legroom man

By why not just go ahead and get a truckbox built in the shape of a wedge or something, you shouldnt lose any legroom to be honest...

what 12 are you using with the ported setup? youre gonna love it i cant wait to port my SE12. probly stretching it across the back too, 2 cubes before woofer displacement and tuned to 30-32.

kuijo u crazy man! haha. i guess im just badly claustrophobic. if those dimensions work for you then go for it, itll be somethin that nobody else has. get some cardboard and mock it up, drive around for a few days and see if thats comfy

the big thing is remembering that the seat reclines. i only lost ONE click with my SE12 but the seat only reclines 2 clicks. gotta push it forwards to lean back

As for those DD's, I think it's 6 3/4" mounting depth? Something to that extent, they were VERY LOW in the box, I've got pics of the box I can send you if you get me on AIM...

1/4" higher and the magnet of the subs would ahve set either on the bottom or hit the little lip, it was CRAZY close, too close for comfort actually ;( lol

As for my ported setup - I'll be using an AudioQue HD series 12" DVC 2Q subwoofer on an 1100w Memphis...pushing it nicely I hope...

I think it has like a 7" mounting depth, so I should be all right with that, I'm not making the new box, someone else is and they've already checked it out as much as possible...

Momentarily I'll have a Type S Alpine DVC 4 12 in there, until I get the funds for the AudioQue...

I know a local shop here sells prefab ported boxes, my friend has one with a 12w3v2 and I must say, it's pretty badass...

Let us know how that box turns out b/c i'm definitely interested. I have a that probox with two 12s for my '99 ford f-150. Bout the only thing that will fit and sound good in that thing are some IDQs which i am about to buy. I'd really like to port an IDMax in a box like you're havin built so get some pics when it's all done. I'd love to see his work.

I have an 01 reg cab ford and I am in the process of making plans to fit 2 12" Kicker solobaric L7's behind my seats. Its real hard to find enough space back there for these hahaha
