box idea/ advice....

so my friend tells me this idea, and i became interested and want to know some opinions. if its a good idea i may just go with this over a bandpass through armrest....

he says

"Alright plan on re-building the box and I may try this. Remember my trunk is extremely sealed off, I have computers and what not all on behind the rear seat and with the panel off it doesn't let much air intot he car. Anyways, I want to face the subs the same way, towards the back and have the port facing up and into the car. It would be built so the port goes directly into the rear deck. How you guys think that will work? "

no thats just a bandpass box.....thats kind of what i wanted to do, but through arm rest instead of rear deck.

my friend wants to do a regular ported box, but instead of the port facing towards the rear, he wants it up into the rear deck.

Similiar, Skep has a pretty sick set up, but I'm not too sure on the bandpass.

I had my box built into my trunk in my cutty with the port as the rear deck. Is quite a bit of work, but it came out awesome and sounded even better. Hell my trunk didnt even rattle much, but my rear window was another thing, lol!

and the whole reason i want bandpass is so i lose trunk rattle....

if i can use my armrest as a port, i'd probably do that if itll reduce the rattle. (armrest is a good 12 x 8" )

12x8" is a giantic port for 12s.

but 96sq. inches isnt really that much.....

bigbang, in that cutty with the port, is it that setup you were talking about in nG's thead, the 4 15" MTX??
