Box from Best Buy?

I found a nice Q-Logic 12" Dual-Chamber Sealed Subwoofer Enclosure from Best Buy online, I'm waiting for my two Alpine Type-R's to get here- so instead of building a box I was thinking about going to pick this box up. Well first of it is a little big for sealed 12" type R. that box is 1.25cuft per sub where as Alpine specs recommends .85 cu ft for sealed 12"

Also that box is made of 5/8" MDF which is going to flex alot on that box since its such big sides without bracing, and the fact your putting 2 12"s in it.

I guess it comes down to what you want to spend your money on. There are MUCH better boxes out there that will make your subs sound better.

TOTAL: $65

I did, I asked someone to design one for me- no one really replied to my thread. Now I'm not looking for any custom unique box, just a basic one. I'll build it if I know what to do and what size and all.

That box looks really cool... but $170 and they didnt even bother to use 3/4 inch MDF? thats extremely overpriced and will get you nowhere near the performance you would get with a custom ported box.

A good box will cost you no more than $65 to design, build, and carpet

a revised list of box materials, I dont really agree with all the prices on that other list.

Box Design: $10

Big-*** Sheet of MDF: $20

Nails: $5

Caulk: $5

Wood Glue: $5

Carpeting: $10-15

build or let one of us build one for your 2 12" type e's and you will hear a BIG difference. You think that they sound perfect and nice in that box but we can tell that u have no experience in any other custom boxes. You will be satified with a custom box. These already-made store enclosures that they sell really don't meet up the your subs expectations.

Best Buy had the same sub I bought in this box, and it sounded perfect... they compared it with a bunch of other boxes with me and you could tell this box was awesome.
