Box for ZVX-8, need some input.

Started on my t-line that cscstang designed for me. Figured I'd post some pics.

Working on getting the port walls spaced and attached in place. BTW, the farthest one is just sitting there and isn't final.

Not good lol. When I was working with cscstang on the design he asked the fs of the sub, and I gave him the wrong info. It had way too much port area and I tuned it way too low. It murdered the lows though. By lows I mean it only played 20hz-28hz and had nothing from 29hz+. No big deal, s**t happens and I was able to sell it and broke even for the materials. Cscstang is an awesome guy, and he figured out where I went wrong and pointed it out. After he gave me some numbers I came up with a new design. Got all the cuts made and started putting it together. Been busy with a box for an SSA Gcon 12 for a guy, but now that I'm finished with that I can make some progress. I'll throw some pics up in a few.

New design.

Here's the 0.82cuft@32 box I built for it(box on top) , but it didn't impress me a bit. It just wasn't big enough and didn't have enough port area. Tossed it in a 1cuft box with a 4" aero tuned to 36ish temporarily, which worked a lot better.

Figured I'd post up a pic of my T-line v2. I left the outer port wall off this time so I could use screws to hold the 45's while the glue dried. Also decided to seal as I went so I didn't have to wipe the silicon on with my fingers. Should be done tomorrow, but I'll have to wait until my new amp comes before I can test it.

It is heavy as hell compared to birch, but I wanted to make sure it came out right before dropping the extra cash for birch. I'll try it out and see how I like the tuning and build another out if birch. I'm using Mdf scraps leftover from other boxes so I had to design it based on what I had laying around.

Here's the last panel/chamber predrilled and almost ready to go in, still need to hit it with the roundover and finish the 45's. @CSCStang Do you think I should put some 3/4" x 3/4" strips to keep the port walls evenly spaced and to also serve as a brace?

I didn't put a double baffle on this time around. Some of the panels are a little warped so I was thinking I'd glue small braces between the port walls to keep the port evenly spaced. Usually I'll wedge a spacer in and remove it after I put the top on and make the cutout, but can't do that with a t-line

It turned out pretty **** good actually. What size box do you have it in now? I started playing around and cutting the line length down a couple of inches at a time to find what tuning works best, which is between 33-38hz. I'm in the middle of making a revised version from birch, these t-line boxes are heavy as fawk when made from mdf. A little advice though, cut your hole a **** hair smaller than 7.5" diameter. You'll likely have to trim/sand it a little, but the zv8 fits tight due to the basket. If you hear air blowing, you'll know what I mean. Here's a picture I took before putting the top on.

The new one I'm working on doesn't have the chamber, I'm going to mount it inverted.

Figured I'd update the thread. Almost finished with t-line v.3, gonna resin the joints and 45's to smooth things up. Going to be selling the sub after I test it out and the box will be included with it. Hopefully I can get that 145 with it, could only get a 144.68db out of the last one.

Kinda pissed about this. Bought a new flush trim bit from Home Depot, used it for first time and the bearing flew off. Before I realized it, the router did doing what routers do best. Was going for a clean simple look, but gonna have to use some filler and paint the port.
