Why does the port area change throughout the port length?

Its a design that rich(stratus) gave me. It's some sort of a tapered transmission line.

As for an amp, partsexpress has that Dayton 240wrms amp that's pretty nice. It's a little big for that sub but it's only $100 and most other/smaller plate amps almost cost as much. It is large at almost 10" square at the outside and a cutout of 8.5" square.

That was already covered -- it's a tapered transmission line and not a ported enclosure and that is not a port. Tapered transmission lines have the line taper from one end to the other.

i know its a T-line just dont know the expression in english for the tunnel/port what ever u call it...every tline design i saw b4 didnt have 'irregularities' in teh tunnel area

I think we have a couple old half stacks in the garage so I may just steel the amp out of those. Now I am debating on what to finish it with. Possibly black piano paint.

Its a tapered t-line, meaning at the beginning it is smaller and tapers to a larger width as it gets longer. It is similar to a horn(i say similar for comparison purposes but in reality they are quite different)

since you did the 45s i dont see why you didnt sand the edges of the port ends
