Box for single Sq hdc3 12

Ok so I received my Sq hdc3 12 the other day. And now I'm ordering either the sundown scv 1500d or the Sq Q1-2200d. I have a box for it but I keep getting told it's to big. It's 3+ cubic ft at 33 hertz. I have the tools and wood to make another box for it. So I have the opportunity to do it and want to take advantage of that. And I know the box should be like 2.75 cuft. I heard that even 3 cuft would sound good. I want it at about 32 hertz. I love those lows. I really need help figuring out the dimensions for the box. I want to do a straight slot port. And want to double buffet the front so it's sturdier and the sub fits flush. So please if anyone can help me out that would be great! Thanks

That box should work fine for the amount of power you have. If you start running more power id shrink the box a bit, the new hdc 3 models don't require as much space as the old models. How much port area does the box have?

edit: I missed the amp selection part, if you run the sundown that box should be fine. If the sq I'd try that box out before building a new one, but be careful with the gain.
