Box for SDC2.5 12's

I think I have finally made up my mind and plan to go with 2x 12" SDC2.5's with either an eD nine.1 or AQ 1200d to power them. Max dimensions for the box is 35"width and 14" height and depth it can go pretty much as far as necessary. 35wide and 14high would pretty much seal off the trunk. It will be aeroported tuned to 38hz. So should i build it maybe 32" wide and 14" high and face it towards the rear. Or should i build it 35"wide 14" high and face it forwards and seal it off from the trunk... Best way to seal off the trunk?

does your rear seat fold down? If so I'd forward fire and seal it off. 4cubes would work well for those subs on that power level...

Rear seats do fold down its a 60/40 seat in the back. And i have a 98 saturn sl1, which is very easy to put audio into but rattles like a b****

seal it off with great stuff and panels. id do 4.25 cubes tuned around 36 with 2 6" aeros. should get decently loud. the ones i messed with got loud off 3kw with a simliar box cept it was a 72 sq " slot tuned to 35 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I can't do 2 6"s because i wouldn't be able to keep the end of the port at least 6" away from the back wall. So would 3 4"s be ok? if not then i may just have to make it deeper and hope for the best lol. And what is this "great stuff" and panels you speak of?

i just got done doing one for my buddy. he has 2 sd 12s in 05 grand prik, loud do 4.5 Cb after dis. 72 Sq inchs of port & 38hz

Make your box:

External measurements:

W=32", H=15", D=25"(25.75" with dbl baffle)

Interior measurements:

W=30.5", H=13.5", D=23.5"

Make your port 5.3" wide, 13.5" tall, and 21" long/deep

If you use double baffle, and you should if possible, project your port walls into the box 18.75" from the outside face of the box and then add 1.5" to each port wall at right angles.

If you use a single baffle project the port walls into the box 18" and then add 1.75" to each port wall at righ angles.

Port will be in the middle of the box firing to the rear and

the subs will be centered between the port walls and the end walls of the box.

Box will be 5.6 cubes gross internal volume and 4.5 net internal volume tuned at 38hz.

I could possibly do 15" high i have to remeasure because the rear deck and trunk lid is high enough but those d*** torsion bars that swing down make it close... Boutta cut them off because they p***** me off from day one
