are the box specs or re's site really going to give me what i want?? (2.2 cu @ 34 hz)

Im tryin to get a sql set up that is leaning a little bit more towards spl, suttin that will get some nice numbers but still bump to techno and but a smile on my face. Ideas? This will be in a trunk and powered by a soundstream rubicon 2500d.

ive never used the subs, but from what ive read they like big boxes and alot of power, so id up the airspace if i were u. If you call or email RE i bet theyll tell you the same thing. this guys running less power but 2.7 sealed

see and now im lost lol. one person is saying that 2.5 cubes is good and then someone else is telling me big boxes.there is a big difference between 2.5 cubes and 4....

are u giving it 2500 or 1700?

if ur giving it over its rated power, going too large can possibly cause problems.

if ur giving it 1700, then 3 cubes should be fine

yes, which is why i said if he is sending over rms to the sub, it can cause problems? can u read?
i was just clarifying it for him bro. dont get butthurt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

nothing to clarify though? its not like the sub can wire to 1 ohm, and 2 ohm without changing the coils
i'm not talking about that...you said if you give the sub over it's rated power and stick it in a box that's larger than the rec. box size is you can experience problems. i was just makin sure he realized what those problems were. too many people take advice without actually knowing "why"

The sub has a very low fs. If you're going to port it, you are going to have to tune very low, unless you want to have a big peak in the response. I wouldn't even think about tuning above 30hz with it, unless you're looking for a big spike in output in the 35-50hz area.

fair enough
