Bass recommendation...

First Post....

So I will be ordering an 12" Fi BTL N2 sub and I am thinking of pairing it with the Sundown 2500.....I am trying to keep my amp budget as low as i can but if i have to spend 700-800 on an amp that will make my sub hit good...i will....Any other recommendations on an amp that will give me equal or close to equal quality as this sundown with a better price tag would be appreciated....I am mostly posting because i am not decided on what enclosure design i want....Ported box is the way im going but I wanted to have my port coming up through my back deck to try and keep my trunk from rattling as much as i can any pros and cons on this?....it rattled waaaayyy too much with a 15" alphasonik i had....If anybody is willing to design a box for me it would be appreciated....if measurements are needed i will do so first thing tomorrow morning....I am also a lil strict on space since i do construction and will need atleast enough room to fit 2 milk crates....

AQ2200D Amplifier

i would do that amp personally. sundown is good, but screw that price tag.

u can get an AQ3500 for cheaper than the sundown 2500

sub is only rated 2000 rms, yes it can take more, but shouldnt need more than 2200 rms to please u

not sure about the whole port deal, but if rattling is ur only concern, sound deaden it. that will help get the sound into the cabin, and prevent rattles.

if its strictly rattles ur worried about, check out CLD tiles from sound deadener showdown. they are cheap and they work wonders. i have a crew cab truck, i put subs in and the back of my cab wall rattled like crazy. i put 1!!! cld tile and i could no longer hear the vibrations over the subs. i could still hear it outside, so 1-2 more and it would have all been gone. at $2.50 or less, it was the best $2.50 i spent lol. u can also email him and ask him about how to get sound into ur cabin with his other products, he is very helpful.

I have been thinking about buying that thing to pair with a 12" BTL for myself. Just can't convince myself to give up my SA-12 with less than 10hrs on it!

I say get that refurb amp for sure, then I will stop looking at it every 15 minutes!

I hear yah bro. Was on db-r every day checking in, missed out on an amp trying to decide. Made up my mind and no amps for about 2 weeks then finally they posted one up a few days before the sale was over. Then I got lucky and snagged up a sax-100.2 for $86 off of ebay. If the member has good feedback would also suggest the classifieds. The 3500s seem to be going for about $500 used. I run old school orion hcca amps for most of my subs. I've been happy with the sundown. Not saying sundown is the best, it was just a level of quality I could justify paying the price for.

Hmmm i seee....the issue is i think my car was in an accident from the rear and body shop did a crap job and my trunl doesnt align properly...ive seal my trunk almost completely with spray foam but i will def try out those sound tiles for that price....Any recommendations on anybody who can make me a good ensclosure design

hmmmm gotcha....srry for responding so late.....btw....My cousin has a brand new Lanzar Optidrive 2000watt amp....would that be any good for the FI BTL?? Supposly it pushes 2000watts stable at 1ohm...i want to know details about this amp if im going to buy it off him....i feel those amps arent reliable.....

ive read that optidrive is the only good lanzar amps. but i have no personal experience with them.

a friend bought a cheap $100 lanzar amp, couldnt get it to do right, like it worked, but he was pushing a sub and the thing didnt push it hard at all even with gains cranked up.

someone else will have to chime in if they are good or not.

lanzar does 2000 at .5 ohm and lots of electrical

the brz2400.1 is the best deal on the net now, puts out rated power and is clean for a nice 318 shipped new.

if money wa sno issue i would ge with the powerbass to have the extra power on hand and its an amazing amp

id give it more then 2000 watts and these would both be awsome amps for it i always liek to have a lil extra power on hand.

I dont have electrical...I previosly had an O2 3000watt pushing a 15 alphasonik and all i have is a Kinetik 2000 in my trunk...still havnt hooked up the isolator, and ive been searchin for a HO alt but havnt had any luck....and i have the wiring for the big 3 but been a lil lazy to do it LOL...And that aphasonik was pushing pretty good with just an extra battery
