Box for my regular cab

Hey everyone im new to the forum...but I just bought my first system.

I got 2 12w3v2's and a jl 500/1 amp.

I am putting them into a 2000 silverado 1500 regular cab.

From what I have been reading I will probably have to go with a sealed box.

but hey I dont know much about this stuff and the box is the last thing I need to get done...so can you guys give me some suggestions?

oh and one more question...a kid I know has 2 12' kicker comp vr's in a ported box in his extended cab. but he is running a crappy pyramid 1400 watt amp....do you guys think my system will be louder than his?

Due to your limited space, Sealed is probably your only option. Unless you run just one of the 12's. Then you may have room for a ported box. As for being louder than your friends.....hard to say but probably would be.

yeah I figured sealed from what i have been reading.

should I just have it custom made locally at mr. tunes or does anyone know a place that makes a real good one for my truck pre made?

I figured I would be louder just because I read that the amp he is using doesnt put out shit.

do you guys think that my system will have the ability to make the ears hurt in my truck? how many db? around 140?

If you have the tools and place to do it... Build it yourself. Cheaper and probably would be built better. Second option, I would say, have a good reputable shop build it for you.
