Box for an 18?

I don't have a tape measure handy so I can't go measure my trunk, but I'm thinking about replacing my two 12" Type Rs with an 18.

Was wondering what steps you recommend? I bought my current box pre-fab because I don't have woodworking skills or the tools necessary to do it.

What's a nice 18" sub that will pound with an Orion 1200D (or should I upgrade it?) and how big of a box am I looking at?

go on RE website and find the customer service email. then email them that you want to find the nearest dealer, include full adress, they will then send u a list of all dealers.

Plenty.

Anything on 5-6cuft for a 18 is fine any bigger you cut back on power needs. If you want to go for a smaller amp then go 7.5 and youll be good to go and hit really low. Ive always like Big subd it 5-6cuft caust they have a tend. to move slower then smaller subs and smaller boxs help them recover faster.

If it was me I would do 4.5-5 cuft after all is said and done.

That size sounds good. I had my 18" in around 7.5 (external), and then I tried an 11.5 (external) box, and the 7.5 was waaaay louder.

Looks like this week's paycheck is going toward an 18" and enclosure!

I found a local RE dealer, they want $499 for the 18" SX. I'm gonna purchase it and head over to iamamp3pimp's house (thanks for the referral vetkilr) a few hours away and work on putting it in together. I REALLY need my spare tire, so I think what his plan is is to glass the tirewell and put the spare tire on/behind the box. All I know is, it's going to be a project!!!

My sub will be as big as my rims, hahaha... I hope the Orion 1200D powers it nicely!
