im going to build a ported box for a type R, i want a box thats around 39 hz, also whats a good size for the cu ft, i was thinking around 2.75 cu ft or so after displacements, anyone have ideas on anything that should be different? also if anyone would draw some plans up ill paypal them a few bucks, im a lil lazy

12 inch, i listen to classic rock/rock music, its good for that, then also i could listen to rap and it would still sound good, maybe 35hz or so

I'd tune lower, it'll hit ALL of the notes and the low lows would sound sweet. I also listen to the samethings, believe me, a lower tuning is definatley worth it.

2^3 @ 30Hz with 23"sq.in. of port looks to be good.
