The 4hp has alot more motor than the Q. It doesnt need that large of an enclosure. Someone had one in a 7 cube box tuned to 37hz and unloaded the sub and practically destroyed it. He was giving it 3k. Like i said before the enclosure size is just fine, but port area should be around 150 ish

The size of the enclosure it just fine. Should have more port IMO. What kind of power are you going to put to it?

power- 2 rockford fosgate t30001's... and as far as port- ill try 150 sq in, then. originally had 200 sq in, but kyle thought that was to much...

ok guys- how about this one?- box is 10.27 before all displacements.

port is 5"x30"x34.02". port displacement is 2.95 cubic foot. sub displacement is .32cuft. so- after all displacements, it should be 7 cuft. tuned to 34 hz... is this correct? (mostly worried about the tuning)

never said i thought it was "good to have". just said some people do... there is no way to argue that.... NOT what i want to do... as i said- i dont need a box design, just someone to check my #'s.... and besides that- what does me saying that in anouther post have to do with this post? please enlighten me....
