Picking up a couple hds212's and I came up with a box that will seal up and fire forward in mustang. It's 34" wide x 27" deep x 13.5" tall. Will be 4.5 cuft net @ 38hz with 73 sq.in port area. So 16" per cube. What you guys think ? Will be powered off a saz1200d @ .5

A little high on the port per and small on the net cubes (2.5 per is ideal) but yeah that will work on that much power. I've done a lot of boxes for my Mustang and rear firing 7" from the tail lights gives me the best results. I did a forward fire sealed up and lost dB big time.

the subs model flattest on winisd with 4-5 cubic feet at 32 hz. The subs dont need that much port area since xmax is low, minimum port area is 26 sq inches of port area per 12.

If I cut back on port area I might could get closer to 2.5 per, I read dd and Sq like big box big port, that's why I shot high on the area. What would you suggest on the port ? I figured forward sealed would be the way to go.

they like big port for their HDC drivers, not necessarily on the hds drivers. Here's how to get the proper figures for port area

Ok, so we're looking at 52 Sq minimum how do I know what is optimal ? Is that where the trial and error comes in to play ?

As long as you have 52 or more, you are fine, Its mainly for port noise.

Came up with one with the same dimensions, it's 4.56 cuft @ 32 with 58sq.in port. That sound more better ? Lol
