Check out Arauco Plywood it costs about $10 more than a sheet of MDF but it's much lighter and much stronger. Shop 23/32" 4X8 ARAUCO PLYWOOD ACX at Lowes.com

When I played around in winisd with them they def. preferred larger boxes than the recommend ones. For sealed, 3-4 cubes is ideal for a nice low end extension. For ported, don't be afraid to go big and tune low.

Per sub? Iyo how much lighter is the arauco stuff? It would have to be fairly noticable for me to justify buying it.

Yes per sub. Around 15-20 lbs lighter

because this sub kicks major *** sealed, I'd run them 4th ordered

saying that I never read or did any math to see if they would fit your car in a 4th order

edit: and birch is lighter even the cabinet grade is lighter then mdf and no stupid price tag for glue and saw dust

I am very interested to see what box designs come out for this woofer. I have only had sealed boxes, so I always like to see some of the crazy designs you guys come up with. I have feeling we are going to see a few of the 18's in boxes JL never dreamed about trying.
