Box for 15" Kicker L7, '92 bonneville.

Going to be going in my '92 Bonneville. Going over box design in my head. Single 15" Kicker L7, Dual 2ohm.

Wanted to know how good this sounds:

36"width X 17"height X 18" depth.

Comes out to be about 4.5cubes after displacment, tuned to 34Hz with 50sq. in. of port. Does this sound good? Going to be running 1200-1500w to it.

Another question, my car's rear seat has an armrest that folds down, opening up into the trunk... the opening is 9.5" high by 7.25" wide. Would I notice much of a difference if I were to do sub/port firing towards the rear seat, with the armrest down, opposed to sub/port back?

That should be a good size for daily driving and playing music. As for firing directions, I cannot give a definite answer because I have never worked with a trunk like that. All that I can say is try both ways.

Yah... I have chatted with him. The box he had was a bandpass, and I thought of going that route, but figured it would be easier just to do a simple ported box.

i have read that 12-16 sq in of port area per cube is good. i think i read that on ROE
