It makes the box "seem" 10% - 20% larger. this can be great if you didnt account for driver displacement, or made your box slightly too small.

It doesnt make it "louder" per-say, but does make it usually sound smoother.

Do you guys do anything to secure your polyfil in slot port enclosures? I would it imagine it comes flying out.

i didnt. i packed mine in tight in the back of the box. dnt tear the polyfil in small pieces and you and you should be fine. mines havent blown out yet and it made it deeper.

it is ideally used for sealed enclosures...about 1lb/cu'...i usually do about 3/4lb, 1lb is a lot.

You do know that the air in the port travels in AND out right?

Polyfil doesn't make things louder but smooths out the response and lowers the alignment. This usually results in a little more low end.

Yes I know air move in AND out. Don't have any experience with slot port enclosures so I was wondering if polyfill ever came out.

Built a bandpass with a friend with 2 4" diameter 12" long ports and when he ripped the polyfill sheet a little too small a couple came flying out of the ports after a week of use.

OK guys, call me retarded but instead of using 1728 in^3, i devided by 1528 in^3 for my box dimensions...so its about .98 ft^3 and needs to be just over 1ft^3.

If I use polyfill, will this make the box OK to use? Whats going to happen when using a box thats slightly too small?

Your worrying too much about little differences in the numbers. Put about 3/4lb poly fill in and you will be fine. You will barely notice a difference if any at all

It will be slightly tighter and will have a very slight difference in low end. Adding polyfil will smooth things out some and will give a slightly increased low end. To the ear, there won't be a huge difference. Also, the difference from .86 to 1 cube isn't going to be a large difference anyways.
