I'm thinking of buying one of these subs. the fact that I can get one for 140 shipped and it can handle 1000 rms makes me pretty happy. The only thing is, I don't know what box to use with this sub. I have a 12 inch box all ready that is close to 2 cubic feet sealed. Would a sealed box work with this sub? Does anyone have experience with the premier TS-W3001D4?

I got one of these subs coming like friday...I really need to know if I can use my 2.1 sealed box with this sub. Pioneers website recommends like .5-1 cubic feet but doesn't say if that's for a sealed or ported box....is there anyone with some advice on this? I can screw some wood in the box to knock down the cubes a little if I have to. Or i may just build a new one.

after searching i finally found that the specs given on the pioneer site are for a sealed enclosure. so i cut mine in half and put a new board on and re sealed it.

If that model is anything like its previous model then ported is the way to go... give it between 1.6 to 2 cubes and tune the box low, like 28-33hz and you're going to love the output, the sq and the amazing low end of this sub.

well right now I have a 1.1 cubic foot sealed box. and the recommendation that i found on the web is for a sealed box. And Another guy on this site pm'd me and told me that they sound good in sealed boxes. I'm not against ported boxes but i listen to a wide variety of music. And I've heard that sealed is the best for different varieties. And I don't want to spend the money on a ported box.
